A Writ of Body Attachment:
A writ of body attachment is a process issued by the court directing the U.S. Marshal to bring a person who has been found in civil contempt before the court. The process may also be called an order of commitment for civil contempt or a warrant for civil arrest.
In some jurisdictions a warrant for someones arrest does not always mean that they will be handcuffed and carted off to jail. The officer that is serving the papers has the right to decide whether or not to take this person in. They decide based on attitude, sobriety etc. However, if there is an "attachment" the officer may no longer choose whether or not to cart this person off to the magistrate (which is the first process after being brought in) The magistrate will then make the decision if this person is allowed to be signed out on the own recognizance, or order bail. They can even refuse to decide either way and just have the person go before the judge for he/she to decide. Trust me I am employed in the legal system.
It means that the judge wants the law to pick him up. Looks like he is going bye bye.
I believe that means when they serve the warrant they don't just leave the papers with him that tell him a court date- he gets picked up.
the sheriff goes and arrests you
